Final Resting Place

Everyone has good days and bad days working for FedEx, for me this was a GREAT day! This took place at the onset of COVID, I felt so bad for this man missing out on the proper Pomp and Circumstance he truly deserved, but I was honored to celebrate with him. I hope you enjoy reading about this hero!
"Now girls and boys I know I've been sharing a LOT of goofy posts in an effort to make you chuckle or smile if only for a few minutes of your hectic day or week, I believe we ALL still need to laugh with everything going on these days. But I'd like to share with you something that happened to me Wednesday the 18th. I was delivering a package to some people that were so anxious to receive that I got caught up in a very special moment in time! This is William (Bill) Allison and because of this crazy pandemic going on he missed out on a well deserved ceremony in Washington D.C. that got cancelled. I am delivering a Medal of Honor directly from France that was 75 years in the making kids! Mr. Allison enlisted at the age of 17 during WWII to fight for us and fight against the evil atrocities in Europe! I'll be including a couple of links for everyone to read since we all have time now to do so about a TRUE American HERO! His wife, Ursula asked me to present it to him and first I apologized for him drawing the short straw and ending up with me as his presenter and I tried to suck in my gut enough to look presentable for him. I can't even begin to tell you what an honor this was for me! Every time I go to their house Mrs. Allison always gives me a few cookies to help me...HELP ME...get thru my day. I used to kid Mr. Allison that i was going to steal his wife from him until Mrs. Allison told me that after 67 years of marriage to him....I have NOTHING over him! Now that i know he is truly a bad ass man, I'll back off my flirtations with Mrs. Allison! These two truly love one another and I am a better person for meeting and getting to know them! It's the moments in life like this that really matter! I hope you enjoy reading about this man like I have, then you can resume the craziness of life again!

Here's Sarge and me!
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of this true American hero, I've been so blessed to spent the little time I had with him and his wife! I transferred to a different station and never got to see them again, but I'll cherish my time that I did spend with him and his wife! My condolences I've posted was from my Facebook posting shortly after I delivered his medal! Such an honor just to have met them both!
