Obituary of Martha Rose Bowman

Martha Rose Bowman, 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.

She was born on October 30, 1928, in Bergholz, OH to Andrew and Maria Nosal. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Bergholz High School. Martha spent most of her career working at the Pennsylvania State University, which is where her love for Nittany Lion Football began. During her time there, Martha was awarded the prestigious Charles R. Chambers Award for her dedication to her professional responsibilities.

Outside of work, Martha was an avid gardener. She spent hours tending to her indoor and outdoor plants as well as keeping the local wildlife fed. Martha was also very devoted to her faith and was an active member of her congregation in State College.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Helen Buchheit, Paul Nosal, and Andrew Nosal. She is survived by her four children, Gloria McLane (Al), John Bowman (Tanialee), Mark Bowman (Linda), and Jeffrey Bowman (Kristy); one brother, John Nosal (Yvonne); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per Martha's wishes, a memorial service at the State College Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and private inurnment will be held at a later date.
