Everything that I could control went just perfectly - the handwoven willow basket lined in unbleached cotton with a little cotton pillow and flowers from our yard, especially . I was thankful for the tent as the rains were with us too. The only bummer (and it's a big one) is the concrete vault. I had expected there would be numerous large holes to allow for transfer of worms and bugs and soil, not two pitiful little things. This is something we need to work on to change. I’m encouraging the Township to allow home and green burials and the cemetery to make at least part of their new area to be designated for natural/green burials and allow for plantings of native shrubs and perennial gardens. Always more work to do.
But the gathering was just perfect even in the rain. I loved the sharing of stories. What a sweet send off. Just warm and caring. What could be nicer.. Everyone showed their love for us both. It was actually enjoyable to hear and receive the outpouring of stories and appreciation of Bill. We even laughed together, something which probably doesn’t often occur at such occasions. Both Dorothy Blair and Dan Henderson were lovely in their help to facilitate.
I sat down when I got home with a glass of wine and fell asleep. Was exhausted. Didn’t wake up until 4 1/2 hours later. A big weight has been lifted. But my life has been changed drastically; I have a lot to figure out. Who would/ could have ever guessed this bizarre turn of events. Thank you all for being there for me and for the wonderful offerings of help and messages demonstrating your care and sweet love for us both.

Pam, just read about Bill's passing. So sorry to hear this. All I can think of is Bill standing in front of the Borough council or a Ferguson township meeting giving a speech.
Bill was instrumental in the pipeline fight. We couldn't have won without his input, support and voice.
Hope you are ok. May his soul RIP
