Obituary of Lois Boller

Lois M. Boller went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2011 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center after a courageous four year battle with colon cancer. She was surrounded by her family and many loved ones and friends. She was born on November 9, 1938 in Coburn, a daughter of the late Perry and Lena (Confer) Kern. On June 13, 1959, she married Donald G. Boller. She attended the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the Coburn United Methodist Church. She graduated from the Penn's Valley High School in 1957. She and her husband were business partners and co-owners of Boller's Dairy Queen on North Atherton Street in State College. She was very actively involved in the daily operations of the store and instrumental in the success of the business for 47 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was an avid Penn State football fan and enjoyed reading, crocheting, bird watching and gardening. She collected panda bears and snowmen. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Leanne Boone (Stewart) of Howard, Kimmy Beebe (Jim) of State College, Lisa (Buffy) Boller-Bickle (Kevin Bookamire) of Coburn and her grandchildren: Christopher Boone, Kyle Boone, Jessica Bickle, Christian Beebe and Nicholas Beebe. She is also survived by her brother Rufus Balban (Nancy) of Woodward, and a niece and a nephew. Friends will be received on Wednesday January 12, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 East Branch Road, State College, PA 16801.
