Obituary of Mary J. Davies
Mary J. Davies, 91, of State College, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at RoseCrest Assisted Living in Mars, PA.
Born March 1, 1931, in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mariannina Perrone Condina. On March 24, 1951, she married J. Edwin Davies, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 28, 2009.
She is survived by six children, Robert A. Davies and his companion, Judi Fouse, of Annadale, VA, Jeffrey L. Davies and his wife, Irene, of Dallas, TX, Mary Ann Steele and her husband, Jay, of Burnsville, MN, James B. Davies and his wife, Nancy, of Midlothian, VA, William F. Davies and his wife, Elizabeth, of Annapolis, MD, Cara Lynn Dugan and her husband, Mark Criss, of Seven Fields, PA; one sister, Fay Ryan of Wheaton, MD; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an accounting clerk for the University Book Center.
Mary had been a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church since 1957, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered in the office. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of the Benedictine Oblates.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m., on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Father George Jakopac officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
