Obituary of Jerome Vodzak

Jerome Charles Vodzak, 69, of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born August 26, 1942 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Booritch Vodzak. He married Geraldine Zipay on October 29, 1966 who survives. He is survived by three children, Melissa Elliott, of Boalsburg, Matthew Vodzak and his wife, Jennifer, of Lusby, MD, Nicholas Vodzak and his wife, Traci, of Erie, one brother, John Vodzak and his wife, Carol, of Pittsburgh, one sister, Charlotte Jesensky and her husband,Jess, of Avella, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Vodzak. He was a 1960 graduate of Carrick High School. He received a bachelor's degree in computer science. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a avionics crew chief retiring in 1993 after 27 years of service. Jerome also worked for the Federal Government as a Program Analyst. He enjoyed singing in the Nittany Knights Barber Shop Chorus and the Vocal Chords Quartet. Memorial service will be private at convenience of the family. Burial will be in National Cemetery of the Allegheny's in Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Nittany Knights Barber Shop Chorus at 2016 Chelsea Lane, State College, PA 16801.
