Obituary of Bonnie Lee Jacobs
Bonnie Lee Jacobs, 87, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born December 18, 1934, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Buck Campbell. In August of 1963 she married Rex David Jacobs, who preceded her in death in December of 2020.
She is survived by her sister, Edith C. Williamson, and husband, Glenn, of Catlett, VA, and her brother, J. Roy Campbell, and wife, Lisa, of Pennsylvania Furnace and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, C. Willard Campbell, in 2001.
Bonnie graduated from State College High School in 1952. She attended Lycoming Secretarial College and worked as a secretary at Penn State and HRB until her retirement. She served as board member and secretary for the Rock Spring Water Company that her father founded.
She was a life-long member of Fairbrook United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania Furnace.
Her passion was her dogs. A master trainer, she competed in state obedience and agility trials with her prize winning border collie, Della, and other dogs to win numerous awards. She was also a skilled teacher, helping many dogs and their owners in puppy classes and with her trained dog performed a successful search and rescue.
Visitation will be 10-11 am, Monday, July 11, 2022 at Fairbrook United Methodist Church, 4201 W. Whitehall Rd., Pennsylvania Furnace with a funeral service following. Burial will be in Fairbrook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to Fairbrook UMC or Centre County PAWS. Bonnie was loved and will be missed by her family, church, and dog club friends, and all who knew her.
