We are so sorry to learn about “Skip’s” passing! I have so many great memories of the entire Heckendorn family and the house in Perkiomenville PA! I will always remember Skip as being a hard worker and working long hours to help provide for his family. When he wasn’t working I remember his love of reading the newspaper and getting updates on all the sports, especially Penn State! He was always so proud of the Penn State community! We Are”! I remember him as always being kind to me when I visited for the day to hangout with Lori (Skip’s beautiful daughter and my lifelong friend), or when having sleepovers, which seemed to be all the time when we were kids! I was always welcomed! Skip, Mrs. Heckendorn (Sue), Skip’s parents, and Aunt Suzie were always so kind and took interest in my life as a young girl and all through my teenage years! They were always fun, easy to talk to, and a pleasure to be around! They helped to guide me along the way, including my now crazy husband Mark! The Heckendorn’s were my second family apart from my own and their house in Perkiomenville was my second home! I often drive by the house and reminisce! I am so thankful for those times! Many many fond memories throughout the years!
Our Sincere condolences to my lifelong friend Lori and the entire Heckendorn family! So sorry you have to endure this very difficult time! Skip gave his time to helping other people after he retired. He carried out the Lord’s work and gave himself to others in need! Have faith in the Lord’s promise to us! Skip (Mr. “H”) is surrounded by the Lord’s Love and everlasting life! God Bless! Rest In Peace Mr. H and thank you for always being a kind soul to me!
