Obituary of Evelyn Sarah Baylson

Evelyn Sarah Baylson, 89, of State College, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born November 19, 1932, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Sarah Rose Allbert Jordan. On February 3, 1951 she married Robert M. Baylson, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children, Bart Baylson of State College, Theresa Brundage of State College, and Barry Baylson and his wife Beth of Florida; a sister, Theresa Siwulich; a son-in-law, John Yoder; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Yoder, her brothers, Leo, Fred, Earl, Charles. Edward, and George Jordan, and her sisters, Marie Bloom, Rita Schager, and Elsie Barnhart.

Evelyn graduated from State College High School.

Evelyn was a very involved mother, serving as a Girl Scout leader, Home Room Mother for all four of her children, running the school book sales, and was President of the Welcome Wagon while she lived in Vermont. She loved reading, sewing, watching movies, and getting together with her large family for reunions and playing cards. She was a wonderful homemaker and terrific cook. She put her love into the food she served and enjoyed entertaining at her home. Evelyn will be remembered for always offering a helping hand and giving of herself to friends and family.
