Sending love to Margaret's family. I knew Margaret as a fellow yoga student when I started attending Monday morning class at the Center For Well-being. I didn't know about our shared interests in early childhood care and the importance of reading and lifelong learning until reading her beautifully written obituary. Thank you for sharing her story. I wish I had known her better! Many will miss her. I truly hope her struggle with cancer was not too painful. Wishing you love and light, Emily

My deepest condolences to the family of Margaret. She attended the same yoga class as me for a few years and she was always a kind and generous presence. It was just through this passing that I learned her last name was Benson. My grandmothers maiden name was Benson as well, I wonder if there is any family connection between us as she is certainly part of my yoga family and will be truly missed. Sending love from my family to yours.

Margaret was a bright, vital and positive presence in yoga, and I had no idea-until reading this page-of her amazing lifelong accomplishments and engagement in the learning community. I know she will be terribly missed by her family.

My deepest condolences to Margaret’s family, Tom, Daisy, Hannah, Sarah and her family in Annapolis.
For years Margaret religiously attended the Monday morning Gentle Yoga at the Center for Well-Being in Lemont PA. She loved yoga and was so keen to adapt her yoga program to the challenges that came her way. She regularly contributed her reflections and opinions about class! When ever she was absent, Margaret would send an email explaining why; always with some humorous quip and would inquire how life was treating me.
Talking after class and our emails is how I came to know and admire what an amazing caring and fascinating woman Margaret was. She shared Daisy and Hannah’s yoga Interests as well as about her Annapolis family. My sister owns a framing business in Annapolis which Margaret shared with Sarah. We would talk about how much we loved Annapolis for our family ties there.
During the pandemic and even before Margaret decided to attend yoga 2x a week, joining Peg Spear’s Friday Gentle yoga group. Margaret, Daisy and Hannah really loved Peg’s Friday Zoom class.
How fortunate we all are to have known Margaret. Her spirit will live on in all of us. I am so very sorry for your loss and hope that Margaret did not suffer to greatly in the recent months.
In gratitude
Rebecca Lerner.

Margaret was a mentor of mine beginning with when I entered PSU Altoona as a 19 year old (who had been a mother for two days) and while I was the first person in my family to pursue a bachelor degree and she contined to provide mentorship, support, and friendship into my current efforts of getting my PhD. She has had such a profound and positive impact on my life and I am so grateful for her. I hope that her legacy can live on through the future work that I do with my students. I am heartbroken that I can't have more time with her. So much love to you all.

My sympathy to Margaret's husband, daughters, and granddaughter. I knew Margaret as a fellow yoga student at the Centre for Well Being. I admired her grace and persistence in adapting poses and props to meet her needs, as well as her good humor. She spoke with joy about her family and work with/for young children.

How lucky I am to have known Margaret Benson, how sorry I am she has left the Earthly world. But she left it changed for the better because she was here. Thank you for the reminder to read to a child -- I'll never do it again without thinking of Margaret!

OMG. of course I had no idea. I will always remember her open heart. I felt let in and accepted unconditionally. Then their was the sharpness of her mind, the uniqueness of her inquiry and the gentle way she walked the earth. I send all my love and prayers.
