Dad, you were my first hero. It’s so hard to believe that you are gone and my heart still hurts whenever I think about it. Wherever you are I hope you are living the most amazing life, surrounded by family and friends. Until we meet again, I love you!

Roy and I share three beautiful granddaughters although I first met him when he was with his first wife. I was pleased to see him at our granddaughter’s graduation party a short time ago. My sincere condolences to one and all. May he truly Rest In Peace.

Evelyn and I are greatly saddened by the news of Roy's passing. Roy was the first person I met at the Ferguson Township Police Department when I went on a ride-a-long with him even before I applied for the chief's job. We became good friends. Most people are not aware that I stayed at his home when I came up to Ferguson Township for the interview. Our youngest daughter, Amy, used to babysit Krissy. Roy had the damndest ability to remember people's names and something about them. He also seemed to know just about everyone. Any success I may have enjoyed at FTPD when I first got there was largely due to Roy's introductions. My family, above all else, remembers his kindness and we treasure his memory. RIP Sergeant Stewart.

So very sorry to hear about Roy. We were in the same High School graduating class, was in same combat shooting classes, recently saw him at physical rehab (we’re all falling apart at our age) and again saw him just several weeks ago. So sudden, so soon to lose him. He was a great guy, loyal to friends, a good cop, a good instructor, and always had a light hearted sense of humor - you will be missed by many Roy.
