Rick Youngs posted a condolence
Wednesday, September 28, 2022
I want to express my condolences. I remember my father (Robert Youngs) talking about his cousin Betty. I knew they were friends since they were children, but I didn’t know how close in age they were (he was born January 24, 1928). My dad passed back in 2014. Sincerely, Rick Youngs

I will always cherish the several years I was with Betty, not only as her caregiver, but also her friend.. From the time I spent with her at Chesnut Ridge, to the last 6 or so yrs at her apartment at Juniper Village/the Willows. We had many many good times. From taking impromptu drives to The Piper Museum in Lock Haven, to a drive to Reedsville/Arby's for a Roast Beef sandwich & drives to visit her kids & friends, We did what we could while she was able. i learned about a favorite Irish meal, Boiled Dinner and made it several times over the years. Betty loved spaghetti and I made it almost weekly. I did keep my promise to her, by keeping her in her apartment & staying with her til the very end. I know Alyn was ready for her to join him. Betty heard music playing approx 6hrs before she passed. I felt her presence Sat morning when I had a music channel on her tv and "My Old Kentucky Home" was on. She would always sing along to that when we watched the Kentucky Derby each year. I'm sure Alyn & his "Tessie True Heart" danced the 1st of many many dances when she got to heaven. I cherish each & every story she shared with me. I loved her Irish spunk Til we meet again Betty,, You are always in my heart.
