Obituary of B. Arliene Hoy

B. Arliene Hoy, 97, of Cliffside Drive, State College, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2022. She was born June 18, 1925 in Tyrone, PA to Clyde and Hazel (Woomer) Ryder. She married Bernard G Hoy on June 16, 1943. He preceded her in death December 24, 1998.

Arliene graduated from Port Matilda High School where she was a majorette. For several years she was employed as a salesperson in the ladies' apparel section at the former O. W. Houts. She also did secretarial work for Retail Credit Corporation, predecessor to Equifax. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ and enjoyed music, the beach, and leading flower arranging at Juniper Village.

Arliene is survived by her daughters, Joan (Ed) Chirumbolo and Jean (Al) Lehman all of The Villages, FL, and sons, Barry (Darlene) Hoy and Bernard Hoy, all of State College. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be private at Pine Hall Cemetery, Ferguson Township; and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Arliene may be made to Grane Hospice Care, 115 Union Ave, Altoona, PA.
