How do you say Goodbye to a life you have known for so much of your own? Do fifty-two years of making memories serve us well? Yes, there were many, many memories made during the intertwining of our lives, her as my maid-of-honor, having babies and her the godmother of my first-born; so many dinners, visits, camping trips always with closeness and loads of laughs in the late night talks; then heartbreaking moments but in the end always friends. Life was not easy these last number of years for her nor for those who loved her, but Chrissy never lost her gifts for language (sometimes colorful?), humor (sometimes colorful?) and a memory for movie quips and jokes (most times colorful?). Despite her battles with cancer and addiction, she was the constant to reach out and keep current in our lives….sometimes to my chagrin, at 7:00 a.m. I will not forget her last stay with us with her sitting in her wheel chair shouting at MSNBC at the crack of dawn. Rest well my friend and find peace. I hope to see you down the road.
