My condolences are with your family. May the God of comfort strengthen you. In God's time, you will all be able to echo Job’s words addressed to the Creator: “You will call, and I myself shall answer you.” Praise be to Jehovah, who yearns to bring back to life all those who are in his memory!—Job 14:15.

I was so saddened to hear about Nancy's death. I'd never met her in person but we "met" online through genealogy; we were third cousins. Her genealogical website has given me (and continues to give me) so much incredible information on a side of the family I knew very little about, including the first photo I'd ever seen of my great-grandpa. Though we never met, I'll miss her. "May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philipians 4:7).

Every time I see the color pink, I will be reminded of Nancy's hard-fought battle... but Nance brought the whole rainbow of color to our lives and that we will treasure. I wanted so much to be at the memorial... 600 miles gets in the way, but our hearts and prayers are close to you to find peace and to always feel her laugh. XO

Dear Brian, Brandon and Gretchen and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Nancy and I were friends since second grade. I will never forget all the silly fun we had together as children and then as teenagers. Even though we saw each other only occasionally as adults, Nancy will always be a most treasured friend. Peace

I met Nancy about 4 years ago when I started at Learning Design. Her smile and laughter brought life and warmth to this department. She always have the smile on her face even when she was in a discussion with our co-worker Adam. You could see Nancy's love and passion for family, life and running through her thoughts, words and actions. She was truly a remarkable and amazing woman and I am honored/blessed to have gotten to know her in the last 4 years. Family and friends of the family are in my thoughts and prayers. Nancy will be greatly missed by many.

I first met Nancy 15 years ago when I was working as a wage-payroll employee in Education Technology Services. She was always kind and fun - and I loved her laugh - it was infectious. In recent years, I had the joy of reconnecting with her again through the workplace. I'm glad I knew her. She made the world a brighter place, and I will miss her. My heart goes out to the Hallberg family during this difficult time. With Deepest Sympathy, Karen M. Hackett

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you must be going through. Nancy was a wonderful person, so vivacious, as well as kind. I was always glad to see her at "knit night for the Knit Pistols" and get-togethers. She was the only Knit Pistol who read at knit night, not that she got much reading done those nights; but no one got much knitting done either. I will hold her memory in my heart, always.

Love goes with Nancy on her new journeys, and so much love stays here that she's shared. No one can ever take that away. Nancy was a beautiful person, inside and out, and we miss her wonderful sense of humor and her musical laugh. We miss her indomitable enthusiasm and zest for life. I'm sending love to the family, to her husband Brian, the children she so loves, and to her parents and brother and his family. I'm sending strength, hope for healing in time, and wishes for peace. The sun will come out again, it will bring warmth, we'll feel it, and when it brings rainbows, we'll remember Nancy's joy.

Nancy and I went to high school together, although being a year apart we were not super close friends. Our paths crossed again, years later, as we were both avid genealogists. In addition to filling in the branches of her own family tree, Nancy gave her time and experience willingly to anyone doing family research in Somerset County and beyond. We worked together (via Internet) on some census projects for the county. What a delight to reconnect with the same intelligent, warm, outgoing person I knew in high school! Nancy will be truly missed by so many. My deepest sympathies to the Hallberg family.

I was so sad to hear of Nancy's passing. I'll always remember Nancy as a great person to be around. The first thing that pops into my mind when I think of Nancy is Stevie and her running around Innovation Park. They weren't going to break any time records, but you could always count on seeing them out there. I also remember talking with Nancy about family. She was always excited to share about what Brandon and Gretchen were up to. As a co-worker, I appreciated her willingness to help out and teach when necessary. She gave me great insights into how things worked which I'll be forever grateful. May you all find comfort at this time and may Nancy rest in peace.

We had a dinner the week before the race where Brian and Nancy welcomed us into their home to "Carb Load" for the next week. We laughed all night. The memory of Nancy sharing her stories in the kitchen that night have lasted and will always be with me. Brian, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids and all of your family.
