Obituary of Nancy W. Gornati
Nancy W. Gornati, 89, of State College, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Juniper Village at Brookline.
Born February 15, 1933 in Southport, NC, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. Watts and Maggie M. Cumbee. She married Edward A. Gornati on October 12, 1972, who survives at home.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Y. Lawrence and her husband, Thomas of Kennesaw, GA; two grandchildren, Matthew T. Lawrence and Andrew J. Lawrence. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ronald Johnstonbaugh; a grandson, Joshua Ronald Lawrence; her brother, James Watts and her sister, Annie Margaret Owens and her spouse, Jerry.
Nancy was a graduate of State College High School. After 30 years of service, she retired as a secretary from the department of the College of Liberal Arts at Penn State University.
She was an accomplished seamstress who showcased her creative side through various craft projects including knitting, needlepoint and sewing. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus, going to the family cabin, travelling, spending time with family and friends.
Nancy was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
Visitation will be at 11am on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St, State College.
Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the funeral home with Father George Jakopak officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Juniper Village at Brookline Employee Gift Fund, 1950 Cliffside Dr, State College, PA 16801.
