I was shocked and very saddened to learn of Carrie's passing. We were bus stop buddies on the corner of Linn and Aaron for so many years and we spent a lot of time sharing what was going on in our lives. The picture you posted captured her smile perfectly and I can still see her wave every time we met. My deepest condolences to everyone that was fortunate to have Carrie in their lives.

Sorry to hear this. I recently digitized 75 Sony8mm tapes, from 1985-2005, and the Vances were on one of them, which was an impetus to contact them, as I hadn't for many years, which was very nice. My condolences.

The Elk Township Historical Society sends condolences to the family of Carrie Vance at this sad time. Carrie and her twin sister Chrystal are graduates of Scandia School, which has been restored to its 1870s appearance. Their dad, Phil is a former president of ETHS and was very involved in the restoration process. We are indeed proud of our graduates and extend our heartfelt wishes to her grieving family from Scandia.

Chrystal and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Carrie for many years in the library. She was one of the kindest, most caring people in the world. She left us way too soon but she also left us heartfelt memories. She had such a love for cats and was recently so happy to hear that I turned “team cat” as Carrie put it. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was lucky to go to South Hill School of Business with Carrie. We were the same age, alma mater, and graduated together. I hadn't known that she passed because we lost touch, but we were pretty good friends back then.
I often have trouble connecting with people and forming friendships and Carrie was one of the better ones. So sorry to learn that we'll never reconnect. RIP Carrie.

Carrie was a beautiful and kind soul. Always smiling and giggling when ever I saw her over the years. Her kindness to animals and to people made her a shinning and bright star. Her light will never be forgotten by all those who loved her.

I am truly heartbroken over Carrie's passing - she was such a joy to be around in the library, and I saw her and talked with her nearly everyday at lunch time, as she enjoyed coming over to the Paterno Garden Level to have lunch with her colleagues and chat. She loved sharing pictures of her beloved sweet cat, Felix. I will miss her wonderful smile, her fabulous sense of humor, and most of all, her kind heart. Sending prayers and comfort to all of you during this very difficult and sad time. With deepest sympathy, Karen Hackett
