Dear Kuya Luis,
The last time I saw you was when you visited the house of the late Gerry Contreras in Forbes Park here in the Philippines. Thank you for the time and effort of meeting with us. Thank you so much for helping Kathleen and accommodating her in your company. I was so worried with here when she was at the US and you being with her gave me peace of mind. I was so happy when I met you because at least even for a short time I felt the presence of not only a brother but a father which we missed for a very long time. REST IN PEACE KUYA. I know because of your good heart GOD WILL WELCOME YOU IN HIS KINGDOM. I LOVE YOU

Luis was a fun, good-natured, and kind boss. I was a newly-minted migrant when I met him on my 2nd job. Lucky me felt at home the moment I started my first day at work where he was the Architecture, Engineering & Construction director. He was very approachable as a mentor and manager.
For a short spell, I did some apprentice work (and stayed) at his home office on weekends which gave me a glimpse of his devotion to family and faith life.
Alas, in two years he decided to go into private practice at the onset of the new millennium Y2K. Every now and then he managed to find time and say hello and continue our interactions like he never left. Up to this day I treasure those signal moments that were foundational in my 30 years' working stint at the department he had managed in my young expat years.
Later on as our contacts had waned, I learned from his new associates who were my friends, of his huge help in their settlement as new immigrants. He had a big heart, that opened doors for others, and I am sure in other ways he had an impact on other people's lives. He will be missed but forever live on in our hearts and memories.
Sleep tight Architect Luis Luistro Garcia, rest in heavenly sleep...paalam at sa muling pagkikita, maraming salamat ❤️

My condolences to the Garcia family.
Lou had an profound impact on many young architects and developers like myself over many decades. His Yoda like calm personality and very soft speech was extremely soothing whenever I worked with him especially when trying to solve any challenging issues in design, construction or building department.
Now, I live in Wayne, NJ and remember him whenever I pass by his former office & home,
Lou's legacy will be long lived in these memories.
My God give strength to the grieving family to get through this difficult time.

Luis Garcia was my mentor. He was always cheerful and he passed this aura to those present around him. He was helpful and kind, to a fault. He cared for his friends and would go out of his way to please them. He was dedicated to his profession and gave me my start in the architectural field when I came to this country.Most of all, he loved his family especially his grandchildren.
I send my deepest sympathies to his family and to those he leaves behind. I pray that they seek solace in knowing that he is now at peace in the arms of our creator. God bless us all.
