LaVada Jo and I became good friends when we were in the same class at Trinity High School. I have pleasant memories of overnight visits to LaVada's home in Prosperity. She had a wonderful family. We were on the FHA demonstration team from Trinity and went to the Farm Show in Harrisburg in 1958 demonstrating different window treatments. I got acquainted with a neighbor boy of LaVada's, married him a few years later and still live within 2 miles of LaVada's former home in Prosperity. My sympathy to her family.

To the family of Jo Dixon,
I just received an obituary email from the National Airlines alumni. I am so sorry for your loss.
I never met Jo but felt a connection as tears ran down my face reading about her life. I felt the need to write to you.
After graduation in Johnstown, PA, I also attended Humboldt Airline Institute a few years after Jo. Our whole class was hired by National Airlines to work in New York City. I politely declined. A few years later I moved to Miami and was hired to work at the airport ticket counter for National where I had a wonderful life and met friendships for life. Pan American Airlines eventually purchased our airline but went bankrupt in the early 90s when I decided to move to Pittsburgh.
I now organize a yearly National Airlines reunion every year in Jacksonville where the airline originated.
I am also a diehard Steeler fan. I attended all 4 Superbowls in the 70s. I understand her passion.
I love Penn State but my father played for PItt so I a little partial. It’s a good rivalry.
Our lives were so similar.
I may try to attend Jo’s celebration of life.
God bless her and all her family.
Condolences and Prayers,
Mary Ann Westall
