June and Tom lived in our third floor apartment on Gill St. My sister and I babysat for Vicki and Keri for years. Lots of good memories. Please let us know when the memorial service will be.

I always loved listening to her talk about being a Girl Scout. Her pride radiated through her in every way. She will forever be in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Although June touched my life only briefly, she made a lasting impression. I was a park leader on the ParkMobile every summer around 1980-1983. As an aspiring elementary teacher, I loved using ideas from summer crafts in my classroom, especially using recycled materials. I was even fortunate enough to be invited to June’s house for an evening meal. Years after my ParkMobile stint I ran into June at a State College art event. I was thrilled when she still knew my name. June just knew how to make everyone feel special.

June was a wonderful woman and as a former Girlscout I cherish her creativity and passion for life and enjoyment! She helped me to enjoy countless camping trip activities and Girlscout programs as a child. She also was involved in Parks and Recreation where my Mom worked as a secretary and I still have some of her packets with crafts and ideas she shared with me, as I went to college to be an early childhood educator. And who can forget the annual July peanut carnival? Heaven has gained a wonderful angel. My deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and close friends.

June was my daughter's Brownie troop leader, only ten years ago! Ours was her last troop to shepherd. She gave so much of her time to Girl Scouts just to make sure there was always a troop where one was needed. My sympathies to her family.

I worked with June with Girl Scout for almost two decades and so many levels, camporees, association, events, council, and thru cookies. I had immense respect for her commitment to the girls and scouting mission. She impacted so many people and loved to share her expertise, time and knowledge. Thank you June and her family for sharing with us this wonderful lady.

Aunt June was a loving aunt. I am 7 days younger than her older daughter Vicki so as kids we spent lots of time together at Whipple Dam for picnics & their home on Prospect Avenue. Dinner at Aunt June’s was always special as we had fun stuff we didn’t have at home! Aunt June also was an avid PSU football fan and the past week’s game was always a good conversation piece as we dissect what went right and wrong! childhood memories are important but June also was a community icon As mentioned she spent years building programs at SC park & rec & as a brownie leader. You can’t attend a CRPR or youth event without hearing June’s name or talking to someone who had a June story & how she impacted their life.
Dear Aunt June you’ll be missed here but our hearts our warmed by knowing you are reunited with your beloved Tom. Thank you & God bless! Peter Forster

My sister Kristine and I were very young girls when June came to the house to show us her exquisite engagement ring from our Uncle Tom. We were thrilled to be at their wedding and watch our new aunt walk down the aisle in her beautiful dress.
The passing years offered so many memories: cookies always in the jar at Aunt June and Uncle Tom’s first apartment; art in the park on a summer day; games of frisbee at Whipple Dam; running after toddlers Vicki and Keri; handmade Christmas ornaments and the incomparable Advent Calendar, part of our sons’ and now their children’s Christmas; conversations at family gatherings and finally, in Aunt June’s room at Juniper Village.
You are always in our hearts, special lady,
Ann Forster Lyon
