So sad to see the news of Dr. Yost's passing. As a graduate student studying under Dr. Yost's supervision he provided me a unique opportunity in the Bionucleonics Department at Purdue University that led eventually to a bright and rewarding career. He even attended my wedding during those years. I've tried to track him down several times over the years to no avail to let him know that my wife and I think of him often and that we were doing well thanks in part to his influence in our lives. So glad to hear he lead a happy life with his family.

I remember summer nights as a kid on Ashland Street with my Dad and brother, John. After the neighborhood noise had quieted down for the night, and the streetlights had dimmed, the three of us would venture outside (again) in our pajamas, to look at the stars. The flat midwestern landscape of Indiana made the night sky seem so vast, making the stars seem so much bigger and brighter, almost close enough to touch. As we gazed up at the spectacular night sky, my Dad taught us about the planets and shooting stars. He taught us how to find the Big Dipper and it’s sidekick, the Little Dipper. Now in my late 50’s, I still look for them out my bedroom window each night before bed, and fondly remember those wonderful summer nights. Thank you Dad, for all of the beautiful childhood memories and generous love. Missing you much, and loving you so. Toofsin.

Love you so much, Dad, you simply are the best and I will miss you greatly. One of the many things you taught me is to balance my personal and professional lives, never allowing my family life to be superseded by my job. You lived that advice by never hesitating to play baseball, football, ping-pong, whatever with me, no matter what day or time I asked. Later on in life, you endured many trips to Blacksburg, VA to attend Hokies football games with me and you made it a priority to attend Mathias' and Wade's activities. You always made it obvious how important your family is to you. In addition, you had an amazing professional career that I enjoyed sharing your wisdom from. Rest easy, my awesome Dad, knowing that all of us will carry on the Yost family name and traditions. Love you, John
