Obituary of Wilma Buchholtz McConnon

Wilma Buchholtz McConnon, 83, of State College, died Friday, March 31, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born March 23, 1940, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Karl and the late Anna (Gruno) Buchholtz. On July 28, 1972 she married Henry McConnon, who survives.

She is also survived by two children; Tara Gerber (John), of Mayville, NY and Kenevan A. McConnon of State College; two sisters, Carol Yost and Nancy White (Harry); one brother, Karl Buchholtz (Barbara); and eight grandchildren.

In life Wilma was a devoted mother, wife, and philanthropist. She gave generously to Habitat for Humanity, Doctor's Without Borders, Save the Children, and State College Food Bank as well as numerous other small charities.

Wilma loved the Chautauqua Institution located in Western New York and spent much of her time living in France enjoying all things French, especially wine.

Those who knew her well would say she was a steadfast, loving, graceful person.
