Obituary of Constance Joy Wensel

Constance Joy "Connie" Wensel, 89, of State College, died peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Johnsonburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Hoh Eckert. Connie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Darrell. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Diane and her husband Chris of CT, Laura and her husband Jim of CT, Sharon and her husband Robin of VA; her two sisters, Elizabeth and Anne of PA; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Connie graduated from Johnsonburg High School, was a secretary at NY & PA Paper Company in Johnsonburg, an avid golfer and loved her winters in Florida.

Her greatest joy in life was her family to whom she was devoted. Connie and Darrell raised their daughters in PA, GA and CT. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and felt blessed by her great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College PA, with Father George Jackopac officiating.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
