Obituary of Beatrice May Hetrick
Beatrice M. Hetrick, 85, of Boalsburg, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Wynwood House.
Born September 28, 1937 in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of the late Leon H. and Edith M. Repard Clark. On April 19, 1958 she married Richard L. Hetrick, who preceded in her death.
She is survived by two daughters, Randi Neshteruk and her husband, Rex, of Bellefonte and Nancy Smoyer and her husband, John, of Boalsburg; a sister, Elaine Blazosky and her husband, Joe, of State College; two grandsons, Dr. Cody Neshteruk of Durham, NC and Jesse Neshteruk of Dallas, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bea was a 1955 graduate of Wellsboro HS. Following graduation she worked at the Wellsboro newspaper where she met Richard. After marrying, Bea and Richard relocated to Boalsburg where she became a stay-at-home mom. When she returned to work, Bea was employed by Robert M. Campbell's orthodontist practice as an administrative assistant. She then began her tenure at Penn State, first in the Plant Pathology department and later in the Purchasing department from where she retired in 2001.
When living in Wellsboro, Bea was an avid horseback rider. She had a life-long love of reading which she shared with her daughters. She had a very active mind and loved memorizing random facts about a variety of people, places and things. After retirement, Bea and Richard enjoyed frequent trips to Ocean City.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Boalsburg Fire Company and helped to serve at PSU football dinners. Bea was also the treasurer of the State College Area Softball Association for many years.
Bea spent the last several years of her life at Wynwood House in Boalsburg where the staff provided her with dedicated care and treated her as family.
Visitation will be 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Celebrant Jackie Naginey Hook officiating.
Burial following the service will be in the Boalsburg Cemetery.
