Obituary of Patricia H. Campbell

Patricia H Campbell, 97, of State College passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Juniper Village, State College. Patricia was born on November 6, 1925 in Southampton NY and was the daughter of Randolph and Helen Hudson. As a young woman, she met a handsome member of Coast Guard who was guarding the beaches of the Hamptons during World War II. Patricia became the loving wife to the late Walter Guy Campbell. Patricia's brother, George Randolph Hudson of State College also preceded her in death. She is survived by three nephews: G. Randolph Hudson of State College PA, David Hudson of Dillsburg PA, and Robert Hudson of Buffalo, NY. Patricia loved to travel, particularly in New England, when she and her husband lived in the Boston area. After she moved back to her hometown of Southampton, Patricia was active in the United Methodist Church. She also spent many years volunteering at the Southampton Hospital as an aid to patients. Patricia had a kind spot in her heart for animals, including her beloved cat Buffy, and loved feeding birds and other wild visitors. When she could no longer volunteer, she enjoyed playing bingo with her Juniper Village friends. Throughout her life, Patricia remained fiercely independent. In accordance with her wishes, Patricia will be buried in Watermill NY next to her parents and beloved husband. There will be a family burial service.
