I have many happy childhood memories of “Mrs. Magnuson,” my best friend Krista’s mom, in the neighborhood and at church. The home she created was a beautiful and welcoming place. But what I remember best about Helen Magnuson is her laugh – an exuberant, total-body laugh that invited everyone to join in. My condolences to the family, and may you take comfort in Helen, healed and whole, entering into the eternal joy of her Lord and Savior.

I'm sorry to hear about Helen. I sure loved her. She was such a sweet and caring lady. She sure could brighten the day, especially when she'd sing. Hugs and love.

Karen: What an amazing woman Helen was. Condolences to you and everyone in your family. Your parents shared a love of Golden Retrievers, as noted in your mother's obituary. You may recall that years ago your parents kindly invited me to meet Zoe, the newest family member at the time. You accompanied me and we had a grand time visiting. Your dad got a kick of the fact that my Golden, Ed, had the same name as he did. Your mom loved all the dogs so much and took great pleasure in watching them share their joy, as did your dad. All the dogs your parents loved had wonderful lives, indicative of the positive attitude of their owners. Your mother gave so much of her life to others. She was a true community hero and valued friend to many, in addition to her countless other roles. Wishing your family comfort in the memories you have.

I played tennis with Helen during the years that we lived in State College. She was a wonderful person who always had a kind word and a bright smile each time we met. My husband and I send our condolences to the family knowing that memories of times spent with their mother and grandmother will provide comfort.
