Obituary of Martha Regel Dreibelbis

Martha Regel Dreibelbis, 89, previously of State College, passed away September 19, 2023.

Born July 27, 1934, in Pleasant Gap, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Myra Young Regel. On April 23, 1960, she married Gerald E. Dreibelbis who preceded her in death on December 6, 2002.

She is survived by her Children, Sandra L. Koren and her husband, Ronald, of Treasure Lake, Douglas G. Dreibelbis and his wife, Elizabeth, of Altoona; five grandchildren, Kaela and her husband, Bryant, Julia, Daniel and his wife, Jaclyn, Madison and Zachary; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Max and Oliver; three siblings, Robert Regel and his wife, Connie, of Pleasant Gap, Patricia Gentzel of Zion and Charlotte Hartley of Pleasant Gap. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Harry and Walter Regel and Rebecca Dreibelbis.

Martha was a 1952 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Clearfield County Cooperative Extension Service for 25 years retiring in 1996.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where she was active in her church community and always willing to assist in community service and fund raising. She enjoyed her time volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Martha always enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and enjoyed following Penn State Football and Wrestling, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Family was always very important to her and she enjoyed taking her turn with her sisters hosting holiday dinners. She would host Easter Dinner and often had as many as 60 for dinner and made sure all the children enjoyed a memorable easter egg hunt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Peters United Church of Christ, 1795 W. College Ave, State College, PA 16801 or Meals on Wheels, 205 S. Garner Street, State College, PA 16801.

Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Peters United Church of Christ, 1795 W. College Ave, State College, with the Rev. Dr. Renee Ford officiating.

Private burial will be at Pine Hall Cemetery.
