Obituary of William John Ross

William John Ross, 93, of State College, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born June 11, 1930, in Mangere, New Zealand, he was the son of the late William Charles and Mary Jane Lusby Ross. On August 1, 1959 he married Sandra Simpson Robertson, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Ainsley R. Rager and her husband, Matt of State College and John R. Ross and his wife, Heather, also of State College; one brother, Selwyn Ross and his wife, Vera, of Auckland, New Zealand; four grandchildren, Halle Elva Sandra Rager, Khalil William Michael, Griffin Dohn Ross and Grizz Alan Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Alan, Keith, Gordon and Mary Ross.

Bill received his Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees from Auckland University, New Zealand, in Physics.

He retired in 1991 as Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at Penn State University.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
