Obituary of Gerald Cribbs Dodds

Gerald Cribbs Dodds, 91, of State College, died Friday, November 24, 2023, at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center.

Born June 23, 1932, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late James and Georgie Cribbs Dodds. On August 17, 1957, in Latrobe, he married Julia Ann Brahosky who preceded him in death on March 26, 2015.

He is survived by four children, Gerald Clement Dodds and his wife, Lorraine Erskine-Dodds, of State College, Christopher Vincent Dodds and his wife, Mary Jane, of Piedmont, CA, Eric Paul Dodds of Mechanicsburg and Kurt Michael Dodds and his wife, Meredith, of Philadelphia; a twin brother, George Dodds and his wife, Theresa, of Monroeville; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Ryan, Sophia, William, Andrew, Dante, Natalie and Griffon; and one great-granddaughter, Serena.

Gerald spent his entire career serving his country as a valued member of the defense industry in multiple executive engineering roles at HRB Singer, TRW, and Pulse Engineering.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and a highly accomplished photographer of scenes of Amish life in Central Pennsylvania. Many of his photos featured his wife in her red Burberry coat, cast against a backdrop of autumnal New England countryside. More than anything, Gerald was a devoted husband to his wife Julia, and a loving and caring father to his four boys and their families.

Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m., on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Father George Jakopac officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
