Obituary of Nancy L. Ring
Nancy L. Ring, 81 of Port Matilda, died Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Centre Care in Bellefonte.
Born May 31, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lillian Smallwood Pfeiffer. On June 17, 1961, in Ellicott City, MD she married Joseph Daniel Ring, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2014.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel M. Ring and his wife Kimberly of Port Matilda and Thomas G. Ring and his wife Dawn Daugherty of Bellefonte, three grandchildren: Casey Goins, Savannah and Thomas Ring and niece's, Sharon Kittle and her husband Richard of Landenberg and Patricia Hoffman and her husband David of Centre Hall. She was preceded in death by her sister Grace Pfeiffer Mellor on October 30, 2005, and her grandson Kenneth Edward Ring on January 11, 2010.
Nancy was a REALTOR for over 45 years. She started her career in Melbourne Beach Florida with John Robinson Realty. She finished her career as a Real Estate Agent for ReMax Centre Realty. She was the President of the Centre County Association of REALTORS (CCAR). She was a long-time board member of the State College Area Food Bank, CCAR, Youth Service Bureau, On The Fly Fly-Fishing and On The Field. Nancy was also involved in numerous other charities in the State College area and was always willing to give her time to help the community.
Nancy was a fond viewer of all programs on Hallmark and Lifetime, an avid reader, a wine and cheese lover, and in her younger years she enjoyed cooking, skiing, and boating. She gave her love of cooking to her son Tom who ended up becoming a chef.
She attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the State College Area Food Bank.
The Family will be organizing a celebration of life for Nancy to be announced at a later date. This will give the family time to set up and accommodate those who would like to share their stories and pay their respects to Nancy.
