Obituary of Charles Joseph Miraglia

Charles J. Miraglia, 82, of State College, formerly of Camp Hill, died Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Juniper Village at Brookline.

Born July 29, 1941, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph James and Jean Marie D'Agostino Miraglia. On June 26, 1971 he married Martha Reed Bates, who survives.

Also surviving is his brother, Dr. Richard Miraglia and his wife, Mary, of Pocono Lake; nephew, Richard Miraglia and his wife, Kate; niece, Karen Miraglia Stamp and her husband, Jeff; nephew, David Miraglia and his wife, Rachel; as well as eight great-nieces and nephews.

After graduation from Pittston High School, he had served in the United States Army Reserves.

Charles received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Mansfield University and a Master's degree in Education from Shippensburg University.

In 1996 he retired after more than 30 years of being a teacher in the Susquenita and West Shore School Districts.

He was a former member of the St. Rocco Catholic Church, Pittston. He was also a member of the Penn State Nittany Lion Club, since the mid 1970's. Charles was an avid collegiate sports fan, belonging to several Nittany Lion Booster Clubs.

Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family at St. John's Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
