Obituary of Robert Jason Moist
Robert Jason "Jack" Moist, 87, of Boalsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born December 3, 1936, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Robert Jason and Madalene (Ritter) Moist, and brother of the late Ronald Moist. On December 20, 1987, he married Martha L Spaide, who survives.
He is survived by two children, Douglas Moist and his wife, Tammy, of Lewistown and Jennifer Harris and her partner, Richard, of Burnham; seven grandchildren, Kelly Amos (Brian), Ashley McMurtrie, Ryan McMurtrie, Travis McMurtrie, Charline Moist (Joy), Sarah Beth Moist and Emily Dillman (Eric) and six great-grandchildren, Cadence, Luke, Lexie, Konnor, Mia and Logan.
Following graduation from Chief Logan Joint High School, he enlisted in the US Navy. After leaving the US Navy, he attended San Diego Junior College and later went on to Pennsylvania State University, where he earned his bachelor's in Business Administration in 1964.
For over 26 years, he was a Certified Public Accountant with Mittleman, Levy, Blumenthal, and Piper. He retired in 2001 as a partner at the firm, which was then known as Seligman and Freidman & Co.
Jack was an avid hunter and loved spending time at his family cabin in Huntingdon. In his later life, he enjoyed rewatching episodes of his favorite TV program, Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elks Club and attended monthly Lions Club meetings in Lewistown.
A private Memorial service will be held at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA with Pastor Thomas Blair officiating.
