Who knew that a simple phone call would start a 30+ year friendship. That is what happened when Matt and Carla called me about a new Toyota at Bobby Rahal Toyota in Mechanicsburg. Right away I knew how special they were. Matt was such an awesome guy! Of course I loved talking to him about cars but we really loved to talk about Penn State football even though he knew I was a huge Michigan fan. He was so enthusiastic about his Nittany Lions!!! Had my family to the house before a Michigan PSU game and didn't mind we were all in Maize and Blue. Such great memories for such a fantastic man. I'll miss you my friend!!!! Ed Woolford

While it was very unfortunate that I was unable to make it back to state college over this weekend, in these past weeks I have been reminiscing about all the good times had with Grampa Matt throughout my life between the family holidays and trips to state college throughout the years. Most notably throughout that time bonding over our shared interest in historical aircraft, especially the C130. While it was only for a short time, I am very glad that I was able to see and spend time with Matt when everyone was together in state college for the reunion last year. Sending much love from Michigan!

Ah, thank Austin, for this special remembrance of your Grandpa Matt! I'm sure he is smiling just now over your love and appreciation of this aircraft that he worked on in the Air Force and so deeply admired. Thank you for remembering him! All My Love, Dad (Tony)

Matthew had inspired me in many ways as a remarkable human being. He was my hero and role model. it was my privilege to get to know him and be a part of his medical care. He will be missed.

Thank you! He was a great person, a warrior, and a hero to me as well. He loved life and embraced it with a smile & a positive attitude, despite his many health setbacks! I miss him deeply, especially his smile and his beautiful blue eyes!

Matt was a great man. When in a room with Matt I always felt so comfortable. He made conversations interesting and had this sincereity in his eyes that made everyone feel important. We all will miss Matt but will meet up again soon. Love you Matt, Carla and family.
