Obituary of Diane S. Kemmerer
Diane S. Kemmerer died peacefully at Juniper Village on May 18, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Harold K. Smith and Pearl Bloom Smith on June 26, 1934, in Pine Grove Mills, Pa., where she lived most of her life. Diane was a 1953 graduate of State College Area High School. She married her beloved husband, the late Theodore R. Kemmerer, on July 26, 1958. In addition to her parents and husband, Diane was preceded in death by her siblings, Janet Smith Cruse and Larry Smith.
Diane worked as a security clerk for HRB-Singer after high school and at the Penn State Bookstore for 15 years, before retiring in 1994. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Grove Mills. Diane was known for her outgoing and friendly personality and made friends wherever she went. She also was an avid Penn State and State College high school sports fan and spent a lot of time traveling to her grandchildrens' sporting events. Diane loved being with her family and was the biggest supporter of both of her grandchildren. She was thrilled to meet three of her great-grandchildren, who provided her with many smiles.
She is survived by her daughter Linda K. Muthler and her husband Jeff, of State College. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Muthler (fiance, Zach Tingle) of Bellefonte, Pa., and Collin Muthler (wife, Nadia), of Pine Grove Mills, Pa., as well as great-grandchildren Eleigha, Liliyah and Theodore Muthler.
