Obituary of Rita Larkin

Rita D. Larkin, 86, of State College, died Friday, April 6th, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born November 13, 1925, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Mae (Ludwig) Doyle. She married Edward P. Larkin who preceded her in death in 1978. Prior to moving to State College, she resided in York, PA where she was an employee of Bendix Corp. She is survived by her children: R. Christine "Chris" Filepas of State College; Patricia "Pat" Snyder and her husband, Alan, of York; Aileen Warner and her husband, William of Pleasant Gap; Kathleen "Kit" Larkin of State College; Maureen (Keller) Larkin of State College; Colleen Chapman and her husband, Scott, of State College; and Kevin Larkin of Clearwater, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by her infant son, Edward Larkin in 1955, her siblings, William Doyle, Mary Civitello, Edward Doyle and Marguerite McMahon, and her son-in-law Richard Filepas. She was an electronics supervisor who retired from Coil Specialties. A graveside service will be held at Pine Hall Cemetery on April 12, 2012 at 1pm with Father Matt officiating.
