Obituary of Faye Horton
Faye Harriet Horton, 98, of Bellefonte, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
Born February 23, 1914, in Robertsdale, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Annie Kidley Horton. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Horton on December 2, 2004 and daughter-in-law Susan Horton on March 30, 2011.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Brenda S, Appleton, of Julian, Lester (Marcia), of Snow Shoe, Jeff (Tess), of State College and four grandchildren, Michael and Megan Horton and Travis and Mathew Appleton.
Faye was a 1933 graduate of Robertsdale High School.
She was employed at Penn State University in the Department of Housing as a clerical worker for over thirty years.
She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church for over fifty years, member of the Friendship Class and the Circle Ten United Methodist Women and a past president of the Modern Crusaders Sunday School Class. For over sixty-five years she was a member of the Lady Emily Rebekah Lodge, #452, Port Matilda. During that time she served many notable offices and was awarded the highest level of honor, Chivalry that is bestowed upon a loyal member.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College with a Rebekah service following at 7:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service with the Rev. Rick Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
