Born November 15, 1916, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Helen Coy Shoemaker. On October 17, 1936, she married Arthur Beattie Fogelsanger, who died Dec. 12, 1980. Pauline (Pauli) graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1934 and Central Pennsylvania Business School in Harrisburg in 1936. She worked for several years in Harrisburg in the Dept of Motor Vehicles. She also co-owned with her husband a cleaning business, Towne Cleaners in Shippensburg before WWII. Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur, her parents, a sister, Maxine Kennedy, and a brother, William Shoemaker. She is survived by two children, Scott Fogelsanger and his wife, Pauline of Port Matilda and Anne Beattie-Moss and her partner, Melissa of State College; a brother, Robert Shoemaker, his wife Peg of Shippensburg; and childhood friend, Helen Cressler of Chambersburg; eleven grandchildren: Robert Fogelsanger (Connie) of State College; Kathleen Morehead (Rolfe) of American Fork, UT; Brint Dietrich (Kim) of Bountiful, UT; Adam Fogelsanger (Steven Korkus) of State College; Shane Fogelsanger (Darby) of Willsboro, NY; Scotia Fogelsanger of Red Springs, NC; Anastatia and Lauren Fogelsanger of State College; Arthur Hauser of Brooklyn, NY; Noah and Sophie Beattie-Moss of State College; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, spent many years attending Penn State football and women's basketball games, and was on several bowling teams. A voracious reader, she enjoyed books on history, biographies, and fiction. She also liked playing cards especially poker, travel, nature, the arts, needlepoint, and visiting with her family and many friends. Her sweetness and smile will be remembered by all who knew her.
