Obituary of Mary Smith

Mary R. Smith, 90, of State College, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born June 26, 1922, in Ford City, she was a daughter of the late George and Mina (King) Hoak. Her husband, Kenneth C. Smith who she married January 5, 1945, preceded her in death on August 26, 2004. She is survived by one daughter, Linda E. Waltz and her husband, Edward, of State College, one sister, Beulah Mitchell of Ford City, and two grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Lauren and Kevin and one great grandchild, Grant. She was employed by State College Area School District in food services. She was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Boalsburg Fire Company Auxillary, the Egg Rollers Group at Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, Mayor- Therapy Poll at the YMCA, and the Retired School Employees. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward J. Preston officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
