Obituary of Denny Moore

Denny Robert Moore, 62, of Warriors Mark, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born August 28, 1950, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Budd E. and Shirley Albright Moore. On October 7, 1978 he married Connie Harpster, who survives. He is also survived by two children, Russell E. Moore and his wife, Kristen, of Cecilton, MD., Randall E. Moore and his wife, Nikke, of Port Matilda, one brother, Larry R. Moore and his wife, Donna, of Petersburg, one sister, Susan J. Campbell and her husband, Robert, of Pennsylvania Furnace, seven nephews and nieces, Eugene Moore, Steven Campbell, Tina Henry, Christy Gampe, Cheri McConnell, Jeffery Harpster and Jaime Miller. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Douglas R. Moore. He was a 1968 graduate of State College Area High School. He was employed at O.W. Houts Planning Mill for 31 years as a manager. He was a member of the Gatesburg Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was director, secretary and treasurer of the Gatesburg Cemetery Association. He was a member of the Gatesburg Historical Society, a founding member of the Mid-State Mopars Car Club and a member of the F&AM Lodge # 700, State College. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at The Gatesburg Lutheran Church, 1924 West Gatesburg Road, Warriors Mark with the Reverend Susan Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Gatesburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to "Mid-State Mopars" to establish the Denny Moore Memorial Scholarship fund for excellence in auto mechanics, C/O Linda Spangler, 116 E.
