Obituary of John Bryan
John V. Bryan aged 64 died Sunday, January 27, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends at home where he had been in palliative hospice care for the last month. John was born in Shamokin, PA June 22, 1948. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mary Sandra Bryan.
John served in the US Army from 1966-1970 and was deployed to Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a longtime employee of Cannon Instrument Company in State College where he worked as a Field Service Engineer. John's work for Cannon brought him to all corners of this world including Asia, South America, Africa, and throughout the United States. John designed and engineered the home in which he resided until his passing. Any spare time was devoted to the restoration of automobiles and motorcycles. He also enjoyed landscaping and other design projects.
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his sisters Kathy and Patricia and his three Step-Children Jonathan, Joseph, and Stephan. He also loved his two dogs George and Gracie dearly.
A service for John will be held at Arlington National Cemetery this Spring; the date will be announced when it is assigned.
