Obituary of Donald Bennett

Donald George Bennett, 78, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born February 28, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Paul William Bennett and Catherine Birringer Bennett. On February 11, 1961 he married Margaret Mary Engel, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Donald George Bennett II of Pittsburgh, Lisa Young and her husband, Jerry, of Pittsburgh, Paul William Bennett of Port Vue; Patricia Bertges of Camp Hill, one sister, Clair Dearolf of Plum Boro, one brother, Paul William Bennett of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Sean, Josh, Julia, Jennifer, and Nicole. He was a 1951 graduate of Saint Wendelin High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army from 1956 through 1958. Donald retired in 1992 after 30 years as owner and operator of Bennett Service in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be 12 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Boulevard, State College, with the Reverend Charlie Amershek Jr. officiating.
