Obituary of Charles "Buzz" English
Charles F. " Buzz" English 81 a resident of State College, died Saturday March 16, 2012 at his residence. Born July 12, 1931 in Williamsport he was the son of the late Sherman V. and Mildred Pendal English On September 8, 1972 he married the former Karen J. Shimel who survives in State College.
Charles is also survived by 5 children, Kim A. English of Springfield, VA, Alan K. English and wife Sebrena of Clayton, NC, Brian L. Miller and wife Tammy of Huntingdon, Heeyoung Kim and husband Fizal Nabbie, of Langhorne and Ikseon Choi of Athens GA. He is survived by 8 grandchildren, Jessica Perfetti, Shane English, Sarah English, Trey Miller, Justin Ellis, Angelina Choi, Daniel Choi and Lucas Miller along with 2 great grandchildren, Joseph Perfetti and Jenna Perfetti, and nieces and nephews. Charles is survived by one sister Helen M. Smith of Racho Cordova, CA and was preceded in death by one sister Janet English Culver.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Williamsport Stevens High School in 1949 and Williamsport Technical College. Following his time serving the country he was so devoted to he worked as a surveyor for Penn Dot then was employed with IBM for over 40 years and later worked in the electronics department at the State College Wall Mart for 20 years. Charles was of the Episcopal faith
Buzz was a Life Member of the State College BPOE Elks Lodge Number 1600. He enjoyed electronics and woodworking. He was very dear to and most proud of his Golden Retriever Sydney Marie.
A Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with Monsignor David Lockard officiating.
