Obituary of Charles Ammerman

Charles "Reynold" Ammerman, 98, of State College, loving husband and father, died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1915 in Tyrone. He was the son of the late Joseph J. and Kathryn M. McClure Ammerman. On June 8, 1946 he married the former Elizabeth M. Hipp. Reynold was employed and retired after 30 years of service at the Pennsylvania State University, Department of Property and Inventory. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #700 of State College. He was also a devoted Boy Scout Leader. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, William R. Ammerman and his wife, Vikki, of State College. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joseph M. Ammerman and one sister, Madeline Montgomery. Reynold was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, State College. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Garner St., State College, with the Pastor P. Stevens Lynn officiating.
