Obituary of Rita Kline
Rita M. Kline, 64, of Lemont, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, surrounded by her family, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. following a courageous battle with liver disease.
Born November 12, 1948 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Shirley Rossman Boone. On August 30, 1974, she married Robert Thomas Kline (Tom), Jr., who survives. This year they celebrated 39 years of marriage.
Besides her husband, she is also survived by her sister, Susan Hoch, and her husband, Wayne, of Travares, Fl. and her brother John Boone, and his wife Mellanie, of Lock Haven, PA.
Rita graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1966, and South Hills Business School in 1976, and was working towards an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts at the Pennsylvania State University.
Rita was employed as an Administrative Aide in the Bioengineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to that, she had worked as a clerk in the Office of the Physical Plant for Penn State, as a legal secretary for Miller, Kistler, and Campbell Law Firm and had been employed at Corning Glass Works for several years.
Many will remember her as an avid animal enthusiast. She loved dogs, especially West Highland White Terriers. She spent many years working with the Mt. Nittany Dog Training Club where she once served on the board of directors and taught puppy classes. She was also was a member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Western PA.
In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, spending time with her family, traveling, and dog training. She was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, Lemont, PA.
Friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m., on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Rd, State College, with the Reverend Edward Preston officiating.
Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E Branch Rd, State College, PA 16801. Pet owners can make a donation in her memory to the animal shelter of their choice.
