Obituary of Donna Dennis

Donna Lee Dennis, 81, of State College, died Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born November 21, 1932, in White House, she was the daughter of the late Robert Daryl and Gwendolyn Edna Jones Myers. On December 25, 1950, she married George Andrew Dennis, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 9, 1986. She is survived by three children, George Andrew Dennis, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Cranford, NJ., Joni Rae Dennis of Bedford, TX. and Larry Robert Dennis of State College; one sister, Linda Myers of Boynton Beach, FL.; six grandchildren, Oliver Robert, Jeb Stuart, Mary Claire, Andrew Caleb, Parker Andrew and Charles Tucker Dennis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lavina Ann Kiser. Donna was a graduate of Point Marion High School. She was the owner and operator of the Quality Candy Shoppe in State College. Visitation will be 2 until 4 p.m., on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be on Friday, December 20, 2013, at the Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery Chapel, 30 Church Street, Smithfield, with the Reverend George McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S Sparks St, State College, PA 16801.
