So sorry I noticed this death notice only now...
Dr. Cox was a wonderful man. He was so patient with me when I was a student at PF Elementary in the 1970s. I was a very difficult child...one year I was actually trying to set a school record for 'most trips to the Principal's office!' I can well remember exactly how his wood-paneled office looked, and the small foyer in front of it with little plastic chairs where I spent so many hours. Yet I turned out fine...have now been a Professor of Political Science at PSU Berks for over 20 years.
I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Cox at Foxdale a few years before his death. My own mother passed away there in 2012, so it must have been a year or two before that. He was SO gracious! Acted like he remembered me well, and that I was the greatest student he had ever had in all his years of teaching. I'm sure he was that way with all his former students.
Hope it is a comfort to you to know how many of us--thousands, probably--were shaped by his patience and caring to be better people. His legacy lives on!
