Obituary of Jean Knepper

Jean L Knepper, age 90, of Pine Grove Mills died January 2, 2014. Born November 15, 1923, the daughter of Irvin M. Herman and Zelda Kyle Herman of Chambersburg. On March 28, 1948 she married William J. Knepper celebrating 65 years of marriage. She was a member of the graduating class of 1942 from Chambersburg High School. She retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot in 1948. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Grove Mills. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 388, Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post No. 5825, and United Commercial Travelers No. 729. She is survived by her husband, two children Curtis W Knepper and his wife, Louise, of Buffalo Run, Bellefonte and Kimberly A. Dile and her husband, Jack, of Hummelstown, five grandchildren, Paula L. Knepper and her husband, Chris McLean, of Los Alamos, NM, Leah A. Knepper and her husband, Eric Peyer, of Chicago, IL, Sara C. Tumlin and her husband, Major Michael Tumlin, of Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Eli Dile, of Washington, DC, Emilie Dile, of Astoria, NY, five great grandchildren, Ian and Cullen McLean, Linus Peyer and Kendal and Brooks Tumlin. She is the last of her family. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 277 West Pine Grove Rd, Pine Grove Mills, with Pastor Richard Virgil officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery. Following the burial, friends of the family will be received at the St Paul Fellowship Hall for a luncheon and a time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Veterans Assistance Fund, Northwest Savings Bank, 1127 Zion Rd, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
