Obituary of Anna Musser

Anna Marie Musser, 92, formerly of 629 Easterly Parkway, State College, died Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born May 16, 1921, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Edna Godwin Schleicher. On July 10, 1943, she married Francis B. Musser who preceded her in death on March 21, 1979. She is survived by one son, Marshall R. Musser and his wife, Grace, of Daphne, Alabama; two grandsons, Richard Musser and his wife, Amy, of Austin, Texas and Jordon Musser of Coppell, Texas; one great-grandson, Trent Musser also of Austin, Texas. Anna graduated from Chambersburg Area High School in 1939. She worked as a reporter for a local newspaper and as a telephone operator prior to her marriage and as a J. Alvin Hawbaker Realtor from the 1970's through the early 1990's. After retiring, Anna volunteered at Centre Community Hospital and was active in various civic organizations including the Order of the Eastern Star and BPO Elks Lodge #1600. Anna was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church and achieved recognitions as a Bridge Life Master. A memorial service will be held in May of 2014. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. In honor of Anna's 21 years as a military officer's wife, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to the National Military Family Association, 2500 N.
