Obituary of Virginia Corson

Virginia Mary Corson, 92, of State College, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born August 21, 1921, in Moscow, PA, she was the daughter of the late Miles A. and Bertha Alt Van Brunt. She married P. Sheridan Corson who preceded her in death in September of 1979. She is survived by four children, Virginia Tomlinson and her husband, Robert, of East Stroudsburg, Sandra Naughton and her husband, Richard, of Promise Land, Jeffrey A. Corson and his wife, Mary Ann McHale, of Loganton and Ann C. Franks and her husband, John, of Pocono Pines; one daughter in-law, Nancy Corson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Sheridan P. Corson, in 2004. Virginia was a 1939 graduate of Sunbury High School. She attended Penn State University. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Keokee Chapel United Methodist Church in Paradise Valley.
