Obituary of Hyunduk Ham

Hyunduk "Helen" Ham 86, a resident of State College and formerly of Seoul, Korea, died Sunday, March 31, 2014 at her residence. She was born on September 4, 1927, in Pungyang, North Korea. On November 14, 1949, in Korea, she married Dr. Inyong Ham, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2000. Helen is survived by a son, Taewoo Ham and his wife, Heiyoung, of San Jose, CA; two grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander. Helen was the last survivor of her generation. She was a graduate of Ewha Woman's University in Korea. Helen was a piano teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the State College Korean Church. A funeral service will be held at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College, on, Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Jonathan Kim officiating. Burial will be in Center County Memorial Park. Contributions in her honor are requested to be made to the State College Korean Church, 758 Glenn Rd, State College, PA 16803.
